Alum stone can be obtained in pharmacies or naturist stores in its “natural” or “synthetic” version. Of course,  we recommend that you buy it in its natural or alunite form,  the main component of which is Potassium-Alum or K Al3 (OH) 6 (SO4) 2.

This stone  is of volcanic origin and is obtained from a magma rock. Since this is a natural product whose origin depends on the K-feldspar weathering of rocks, you are likely to notice differences in color and texture between one stone and another. Don’t worry: this is perfectly normal.

Now let’s see how you can use this stone at home.

Some researchers have suggested that just like estrogen which can promote the growth of carcinogenic cells, products based on aluminum may contribute to the development of cancer. However, there is no conclusive data on this subject.

It should be noted that the use of alum stone does not imply abandoning aluminum because  this stone is precisely a salt compound based on aluminum and potassium. If you were using it for this reason, maybe you should think about it again.

It is however true that by using this stone as a deodorant, you avoid alcohols, parabens and other preservatives. Alum stone is completely natural and has bactericidal and antiperspirant effects.
