Are You More Of A Rational Or Intuitive Person?

Hunches are based on reasoning we have done in the past. Even if they are linked to our personality, they do not always guarantee an appropriate response.

You could be one of those people who walk in love. The sensations caused by your intuitions prompt you to make a decision. Or maybe you are more of a rational person and one of those people who thinks about everything in detail before deciding. We give you in this article some ideas so that you can know what characterizes you the most.

Intuitive people and rational people

It is not excluded that you can present a little of these two characters, however so different. Indeed, it happens to everyone to have hunches from time to time, while other times, you will be more inclined to think in detail about the situation before making a decision.

Nevertheless, you cannot deny that everyone has a predominant tendency to impulse, then indulge their whims, or to reflect, analyzing all aspects of a situation before doing anything.

We often link these ways of acting and deciding to our personality. However, an interesting thing you should know is that people who are guided by their hunches are not entirely irrational either.

Moreover, our experts tell us that in reality, many of us, intuitive or rational, have from time to time impulses that we allow us to follow in certain cases. But it does not necessarily have everything to do with a spontaneous act:

1. Intuitive people

The rational personality.

Favorites, forebodings…  We all know what they are capable of making us do. These sensations keep coming back, telling us that it is best to take this path and not another. That this person will not be a good influence for us and that it is better to avoid him, for example.

These palpitations that we sometimes have are rarely recognized as something reasonable, as our society today tends to separate its emotions from their feelings and thoughts.

Emotions are therefore not recognized as being an act of the brain, of logic or of deduction. However, we couldn’t be more wrong. Indeed, the favorites are in fact originating from rapid judgments made by our personality and our previous experiences.

We keep in our memories everything that has happened to us in our life, as well as the feelings and emotions we had when we had this experience.

So, when we have to face a similar situation, sensations related to past events suddenly appear and show us the best path to take so as possibly not to make the same mistakes again, or not to change a situation that has already brought us positive elements.

Intuitions

Everything is interwoven in the complex world of our intuitions, these sudden sensations arriving in our mind without our knowing why.  Indeed, some people always let themselves be guided by their intuitions, and obey them completely.

However, be careful, and remember that sometimes being too fast and letting yourself be guided only by your emotions can make mistakes and make mistakes in judgment.

On the other hand, some more calm and pragmatic people may “ignore” these kinds of feelings and prefer to put them aside in order to act more cautiously.

2. Rational person

To be a rational person.

Rational thought, for its part, relies on information from our consciousness (as opposed to the unconscious, the feeling of intuitives.  The rational believes in what he can see and touch, in what he can compare. thanks to a set of information and readings.

Decisions made by rational people are taken in longer time frames and take into account more different aspects of the same situation. These people are, in fact, more reflective, and seeking to respond to all of their uncertainties.

But in some cases, this type of character can also be beneficial, as it allows these people to put every element of a situation through some kind of “quality control” before making a decision. They are also people who are generally afraid of making mistakes and who seek to make a “perfect” decision.

But while rational people need more time to make a decision, it’s important to remember that sometimes we don’t always have the time we need to make a correct decision.

Rational decision

Sometimes we don’t have all the information or even the time to collect all the information necessary to make a correct decision.

For example, we cannot know absolutely everything about a person before deciding whether we want to have a stable history or not. It just happens, moreover, don’t we say “to fall in love” and not “to decide to fall in love”?

All of this is therefore intuitive and linked to our emotions. So humans are both rational and emotional beings, and we shouldn’t separate the two.

The ideal is therefore to know how to create a balance between the two. Not to rush headlong, but also not to become too finicky when it comes to making a decision.

Insecurity also appears when we experience a kind of existential suffering,  so the ideal is also to find a balance both in our life and between our two sides: the rational and intuitive vision.

And you what do you think ? Are you more of an intuitive or a rational person?
