When winter comes to the fore, it is inevitable to experience some cold symptoms. This prevents us from carrying out our daily activities normally.

We feel so tired that we only want one thing: to stay in bed.

When the climate is cold, our immune system weakens.  Thus, we usually suffer from flu, colds, coughs and muscle pain, among others.

This is why it is important to be well prepared to face the cold days. We must also adopt a healthy routine that will allow us to resist health problems.

Professor Ron Eccles of the Common Cold Center at Cardiff University (UK) has devised a method that avoids all the symptoms of the common cold that are caused by a cold climate.

You will then be able to defeat them in just 24 hours.

07h00 – Take a hot shower

If due to the cold climate, you have joint pain or headaches, a hot shower can give you a good start to the day.

The hot water helps to relax and the steam helps clear the paranasal sinuses. This helps prevent congestion and problems like sinusitis.

Another great option is to have vegetable or chicken broth for breakfast.

10:00 am – One inhalation

During the period of colds, the nose becomes congested and we have excess phlegm. This prevents us from breathing normally.

When the paranasal sinuses are blocked, one usually suffers from sinusitis. It will usually cause terrible headaches.

In this case, it may be helpful to take an over-the-counter medicine, or a natural remedy to relieve congestion in the nose.

You can also inhale, covering your head and leaning over a bowl of boiling water. Do this for 5 minutes to calm and unclog the airways.

At noon – Take a short walk

So do not think that you will make your situation worse by going outside when it is cold. Cover yourself well and take a short walk, it will be of great help to you.

Instead of eating fried and unhealthy foods at lunchtime, it is best to prepare yourself some planked chicken with salad.

Protein in chicken helps make more immune cells that fight disease.

The vegetables in your salad are rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients for fighting colds.

15:00 – A healthy drink
